Dahi Masala

Spicy Yogurt Mix

Serving 4-6 persons

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

 

Ingredients

2 CupsYogurt
1 CupWater
1 TablespoonGreen Chilli Finely Chopped
1 TablespoonGreen Coriander leaves finely chopped
Salt to Taste

Ingredients for Masala

2 TablespoonsCooking Oil
6 Curry Leaves
2 Pinches of Hing Powder
1 TeaspoonRai (Mustard Seeds)
0.5 TeaspoonCumin Powder
0.5 TeaspoonCoriander Powder

 

Method

  1. Ina frying pan heat the oil and add Hing powder fry it 30 seconds and add mustard seeds. When it starts crackling add curry leaves and fry it for one minute.

  2. Now add cumin powder and coriander powder and fry it for another 30 seconds. Remove it from the flame and sat it to cool it down.

  3. In a large bowl add yogurt and mix it with water to a smooth mix. Now add green chillies, coriander leaves and salt to taste and mix it well.

  4. If the masala mix is cold sprinkle it over the yogurt and serve it with any curry or vegetable.

The Masala Mix should not be added if its too hot cause it will curdle the yogurt. One can adjust the quantity of water depending upon the consistency of yogurt
