Moong Sabut (Moong Bean)
Green Gram cooked with spices

|1 Cup||Moong Dal whole|
|1 Teaspoon||Ginger Paste|
|1 Teaspoon||Garlic Paste|
| ||Green Chilli Paste to taste|
|2 Tablespoon||Tomato Paste (optional)|
|0.5 Cup||Cooking Oil|
|1 Medium||Finely Diced Onion|
|1 Teaspoon||Whole Cumin Seeds|
|2 Pinches||Hing Powder (Asafetida)|
|1 Teaspoon||Garam Masala|
|1 Teaspoon||Coriander Powder|
|1 Teaspoon||Turmeric Powder (Haldi)|
| ||Salt to Taste|
|0.5 Cup||Green Coriander Leaves|
In a Pressure Cooker Cook Dal With 5 cups of water, Salt and a spoon of oil for 10 minutes or 4-5 whistles.
Now take a pan heat oil and add hing and Whole Cumin seeds.
When cumin starts crackling add onion and fry them until golden brown. Now add rest of the dry masala.
Cook them for 1 minute. Now add ginger, garlic and green chili paste.
Now add tomatoes if u want to, add add 1/2 cup of water. Now cook it till the masala is done.
Add this masala to the pressure cooker Check the consistency of the dal is its too thick add some boiling water . Mix it well and Dal is ready to be served.
Garnish it with green coriander leaves. Mung dal is served with rice or chapatti.
