Palak Puri

Fresh Indian fried bread with Spinach flavor

Serving 4-6 persons

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10-20 minutes

 

Ingredients

2 CupsWheat Flour
2 CupsPalak (Spinach)
2 TablespoonsFinely Chopped Coriander leaves
1 TablespoonGinger Paste
2 Finely Chopped Green Chillies
2 TablespoonsOil
1 TablespoonCarom Seeds/ Ajwain
3 CupsCooking Oil to deep fry the puri
1 TeaspoonSalt (optional)
Water to knead the Dough

 

Method

  1. In a pan boil water and add Palak boil it for 5 minutes strain water and reserve it for kneading dough and now In a blender blend Palak.

  2. Take flour in a pan to make a dough. Add carom seeds, 2 table spoon of oil and salt Palak, green coriander and green chili to it. Now kneed it by adding water to it.

  3. You can also use frozen methi .You can also grind, green chilies and coriander leaves and ginger in a grinder and kneed it with dough.

  4. Dough should be little firmer then we make for regular chapatti.

  5. On the other hand heat the oil in a frying pan.

  6. Make small balls out of the dough and roll them one by one rubbing a little oil to the balls and keeping them aside.

  7. Test the oil if its hot enough by dropping a tiny ball to the oil if it comes to the top right away that means oil is done.

  8. Now fry puri one by one.

  9. And serve it with any thing you like.
