Kadahi Paneer

Spicy and flavorful dish made with cottage cheese

Ingredients

250 GramsPaneer (Cottage Cheese) cut in squares
2 MediumOnions cut in thick pieces
1 MediumCoarsely Chopped Onion
3 MediumTomatoes cut in 6 pieces each
2 TablespoonTomato Paste
0.5 TablespoonGinger Paste
1 TeaspoonGarlic Paste
Green Chillies Paste to taste

Dry Spices

1 TeaspoonWhole Cumin Seeds
4 Cloves
4 Bay Leaves
2 Cinnamon Sticks
0.5 TeaspoonNutmeg Powder
1 TeaspoonTurmeric Powder
1 TeaspoonGaram Masala
1 TeaspoonCoriander Powder
1 TeaspoonKasoori Methi
Salt to Taste

Garnish

0.5 CupFinely Chopped Coriander leaves

 

Method

  1. In a pan take 1/2 cup oil heat it on medium high flame and fry Paneer till it turns light brown do little by little do not over crowd the pan. After frying drain it on a paper towel and set aside.

  2. Now fry Onions till they turn brown and drain them on to the paper towel and set aside.

  3. Now in another pan heat half cup of oil and add cumin seeds when they start crackling add cloves , bay leaves. cinnamon sticks and nutmeg powder. Fry it well.

  4. Now add onion blended in a mixer fry it till it leaves oil and rest of the dry spices mix it well and add tomato paste cook it well for 2 minutes.

  5. Now add fresh tomatoes and half cup of water and cook it well for 2 minutes on medium half flame.

  6. Now add Fried onions and Paneer mix it well and cook it nicely fro another 2 minutes and remove it from the flame.

  7. Now put it in a serving dish and garnish it with coriander leaves.

  8. It can be served with puri, chapatti or Pranthas
