Attey Ka Halva

Dense, sweet dessert made from wheat flour

Serving 4-6 persons

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes



1 CupWheat Flour
0.5 CupSugar
4 CupWater
0.5 CupButter or Clarified Butter
0.5 CupShredded Coconut



  1. In a pan heat 4 cup water with half cup of water and boil it.

  2. In a frying pan heat butter and add wheat flour and roast it at medium flame till flour separates from the butter .There will be fragrance of roasting flour you can smell it from the far. It will take almost 15-20 minutes to roast it.

  3. Add hot boiling water and sugar syrup in to it and keep stirring.

  4. Cook it for another 10 minutes at low flame and sheera / halva is ready.

  5. Sprinkle some coconut over it and serve it hot.

Make sure that flour is roasted properly other wise halva will not be eatable. Do not roast it on high flame will burn the flour. You can add more sugar . The quantity given above is moderate .
