Besan Halva

Dense, sweet dessert made from Gram flour

Serving 4-6 persons

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 25 minutes



1 CupBesan / Gram Flour
0.5 CupButter or Clarified Butter (Ghee)
0.5 CupSugar
2 CupsMilk
0.5 CupAlmonds finely Chopped
2 TablespoonsDry Coconut Shredded



  1. In an skillet heat butter and add besan to it.

  2. Fry besan for 15 minutes at medium flame and keep stirring it .You will feel nice frying fragrance of besan.

  3. Besan will separate from the oil. At this moment add chopped almonds. Fry it for 2 minutes at low flame.

  4. Add sugar and keep stirring and then add hot milk to it.

  5. Cook it for another 5 minutes remove from the flame, top it with shredded coconut and serve it hot.
