White rice cooked with vegetables and spices

2 CupsBasmati Rice
1 Diced Carrot
1 CupGreen Peas
1 CupCauliflower Diced in small Florets
1 MediumSized Onion Cut length Wise
1 LargeDiced Tomato
1 TeaspoonDiced Green Chillies
1 TeaspoonChopped Garlic or Garlic Paste
1 TeaspoonFinely Chopped Ginger or Ginger Paste
1 TeaspoonCumin Powder
1 TeaspoonTurmeric Powder (Haldi) Optional
1 TablespoonCoriander Powder
Salt To Taste
4 TablespoonsCooking Oil (Of Your Choice)



  1. Clean and wash rice.

  2. In a large Skillet or frying pan add oil and heat the oil. Add Cumin seeds and fry till cumin change color.

  3. Add onions and fry till onions turns golden add ginger, garlic and green chilies fry it for 1 minute and add diced tomatoes to it. Add turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt to it.

  4. Add all the vegetables and cook it for 2 minutes keep the lid on. Add Rice and 2.5 cup of water and cook it on medium flame .

  5. When the rice are done serve them hot with yogurt and salad.
